Lonesome Cowboy is a poetic reflection of the writers life in Russia; a summary of life past, present, and future; a statement of political/societal concerns; and a rendering of some heartwarming, soul-comforting feelings. The author becomes the subject of the poem in some cases, in addition to being narrator. The poetry is easy to read and understand, as each selection is filled with emotion, meaning, and hope or triumph.
