This is a story of hopes and dreams-some realized, some lost. But above all, it is a story of a dream found-and realized in an unexpected way. Little Seed is afraid to go out into the world. He doesn't have any hopes or dreams, while his sisters and brothers do. They feel confident that when the wind tugs, they will realize their dreams. As each of his sisters and brothers are whisked away to find their dreams, Little Seed worries. Where will he find his dream and where will the wind take him? He longs to go somewhere far away; but his dream of serving The King far away is shattered when the wind subsides and drops him straight down. Will he ever do anything mighty? He has been promised that he will, but gradually his dream fades. Not until he becomes Little Tree does he begin to hope again. Mary Elizabeth (Robbie) Edgren is a Grandmother with eleven grandchildren who has been writing children's stories for twenty years. She is the author of Methuselah's Gift (1989) (1994) and Methuselah's Heart (1995) (Thomas Nelson) and is currently working on a much-anticipated sequel, Methuselah's Letters. Little Tree's Mightiest Deed is her first picture book for younger readers. Robbie grew up on a small farm in Chatham, New Jersey, where she nurtured her love of animals and nature. Feeling called of God to a ministry to children, she earned a degree in Christian Education from Northeastern Bible Institute, and subsequently taught children in Bible Clubs in the New York Metropolitan area. Robbie is married to a retired Army Chaplain, and as an Army wife, has accompanied her husband to various assignments in the United States and overseas. During their 30 years of military service, she was active in the community, serving as a Red Cross volunteer, chapel teacher, mentor and hostess. She now co-directs ministry at The Refuge retreat center in Brinnon, Washington. Little Tree's Mightiest Deed is the first in a series of Tales from The Refuge.
