This evocative account of the life of the Renaissance's greatest figure traces Leonardo's early development as an artist and court figure to his final years in exile, portraying his loves and sufferings, as well as his intellectual curiosity and tireless loyalty to his ideals. But it is the background to his famous painting La Gioconda and his relationship with the mysterious Florentine woman who modelled for it that are at the heart of the novel - here presented for the first time in an unabridged translation. The result is an engrossing and unforgettable read.An unjustly forgotten masterpiece of Russian literature that inspired one of Freud's most important essays, Leonardo da Vinci also offers an illuminating snapshot of the society of the period - beset with intrigue and religious and social tension - and a host of memorable historical figures such as Michelangelo, Raphael, Machiavelli, Savonarola and the infamous Borgias.

A chance discovery at a distinguished London map fair in 2012 by a Belgian globe collector produced the most unique of finds: a distinct globe with mysterious images, such as old ships, sailors, a volcano, a hybrid monster, pentimenti, waving patterns, conic individualised mountains, curving rivers, vigorous coastal lines, chiaroscuro and an unresolved triangular anagram, which remains an enigma. The globe is hand-engraved in great detail on ostrich egg shells from Pavia by a left-handed Renaissance genius of unquestionable quality. It shows secret knowledge of the map world from the time of Columbus, Cabral, Amerigo Vespucci and Leonardo da Vinci. Central and North America are covered by a vast ocean. The da Vinci globe originates from Florence and dates from 1504. It marks the first time ever that the names of countries such as Brazil, Germania, Arabia and Judea have appeared on a globe. A Leonardo drawing for this globe, showing the coast of the New World and Africa has been discovered in the British Library. This book brings the reader through a fabulous journey of scholars, maps, riddles, rebuses, iconographic symbols and enigmatic phrases such as HIC SVNT DRACONES to illuminate the da Vinci globe. It details 500 years of mystery, fine scholarship and expert forensic testing at numerous material science laboratories the world over. The da Vinci globe now takes its rightful place, surpassing the Lenox globe, its copper-cast identical twin, as the most mysterious globe of our time. As such, this monograph is an essential text in Leonardo studies and in the history of cartography.

Religion, Esotericism, Psychology The first Hebrew word inscribed into the sacred scriptures is BERESHITH . The three middle letters in the Hebrew word BERESHITH spells out the Hebrew letter/word RESH that symbolizes HEAD/SKULL. And the first and last two Hebrew letters in the Hebrew word BERESHITH spells out the Hebrew letter/word BETH that symbolizes HOUSE. That is why I translated the Hebrew word BERESHITH : THE HUMAN SKULL IS THE HOUSE OF GOD. It is quite interesting to envisage that the first two Hebrew letters: BETH and RESH in the Judaeo Christian Scriptures spells out the first word of Genesis: BERESHITH . “In the Beginning” was considered in antiquity and in modern times to be the interpretation of the Hebrew word BERESHITH . In this volume I will illustrate that the first letter of the BIBLE BETH ; though, it is not translated as “in the Beginning” it does mystically symbolize the phrase “In the Beginning”. The first chapter of Genesis is a commentary on the first Hebrew letter BETH and it is also a commentary on the VESICA PISCIS. The first Hebrew letter of the Bible BETH is mystically inundated and surrounded by another Hebrew letter called PEI that cannot be seen, which, is literally invisible for anybody to see. PEI has the gematria (numerical) value of eighty (80). And BETH has the gematria (numerical) value of forty-hundred and twelve (412). The first chapter of Genesis has sixty-nine (69) groups of one-hundred and forty-two (142) Hebrew words held together by eighty (80) hyphens; however, the number one-hundred and forty-two (142) is a transposition of the number four-hundred and twelve (412). Chapter six (6) will illustrate the sixty-nine (69) groups of words colored coded in orange. The number sixty-nine (69) is a very spiritual number, which will be discussed later in this volume. Chapter six (6) is written with Hebrew and English words with STRONGS EXHAUSTIVE CONCORDANCE’S numbers placed over the Hebrew and English words.
