Field and laboratory tests were conducted on epoxy-asphalt concrete paving mixtures made with two types of epoxy resin (one for normal and one for cold climates), a flexibilizing additive, and asphalt. Primary purpose of the study was to develop a laboratory procedure for the selection of optimum binder content for epoxy-asphalt concrete mixtures. The mixtures were also tested in a field test section under jet blast and fuel spillage, and to compare the effectiveness of an epoxy-asphalt binder tack coat with that of a conventional asphalt tack coat.
