Por primera vez en nuestra disciplina laboral, un libro estudia la dimensión temporal del convenio colectivo, analizando importantes problemas -como los requisitos formales que determinan la vigencia del convenio colectivo, la ultraactividad, la prórroga, la denuncia o la nulidad- y ofreciendo pautas para interpretar estas controversias con el fin de reducir el elevado grado de inseguridad jurídica que tienen los diversos operadores jurídico-laborales sobre la mayoría de ellas.El autor desarrolla una completa visión no sólo del convenio colectivo sino del propio sistema negocial, de sus diferentes "estadios vitales" y de los problemas que suscita, realizando un estudio jurisprudencial y doctrinal de las principales cuestiones prácticas que plantea la vigencia convencional en la dinámica de nuestras relaciones laborales.

This edition of the World Bank has been revised and expanded by the Terminology Unit in the Languages Services Division of the World Bank in collaboration with the English, Spanish, and French Translation Sections. The Glossary is intended to assist the Bank's translators and interpreters, other Bank staff using French and Spanish in their work, and free-lance translator's and interpreters employed by the Bank. For this reason, the Glossary contains not only financial and economic terminology and terms relating to the Bank's procedures and practices, but also terms that frequently occur in Bank documents, and others for which the Bank has a preferred equivalent. Although many of these terms, relating to such fields as agriculture, education, energy, housing, law, technology, and transportation, could be found in other sources, they have been assembled here for ease of reference. A list of acronyms occurring frequently in Bank texts (the terms to which they refer being found in the Glossary) and a list of international, regional, and national organizations will be found at the end of the Glossary.

This volume is an updated and revised version of the General Course on Public International Law delivered by the Author at The Hague Academy of International Law in 2005. Professor Cançado Trindade, Doctor honoris causa of seven Latin American Universities in distinct countries, was for many years Judge of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, and President of that Court for half a decade (1999-2004). He is currently Judge of the International Court of Justice; he is also Member of the Curatorium of The Hague Academy of International Law, as well as of the Institut de Droit International, and of the Brazilian Academy of Juridical Letters.
