En junio de 2010 ocurrió un accidente ferroviario, en el que murieron 12 personas. Un grupo de viajeros decidió cruzar al otro lado por en medio de las vía en vez de usar el andén. Los psicólogos apuntaron al factor grupal como la causa principal por la que estas personas cruzaron por el sitio más peligroso y prohibido, se comportaron como grupo y siguieron a su cabecilla.Según este ensayo, es este mismo poderoso factor grupal el que da autoridad a las religiones. Toda la influencia de las religiones se basaría en este poder y los dogmas de fe importarían poco. Este libro presenta el argumento definitivo contra la religión.
