Values-rich journeys can be described as pilgrimage, spiritual travel, personal heritage tourism, holistic tourism, and valuistic journeys. There are many motivations for undertaking these journeys; the most important being personal values, life experience, personal and social identity, lifestyle, social and cultural influence. This book presents contributions that address pilgrim motivation, identity and values as they are shaped by the broader sociological, psychological, cultural and environmental perspectives. Por eso considero que la Calidad empieza por las personas o por uno mismo, realizando un trabajo correctamente en materiales, tiempo y con un método estandarizado y que lo que se requiere para trabajar con Calidad es, QUERER HACERLO, claro que también es necesario Saber cómo hacerlo y para eso se requiere de la capacitación y se necesita Poder trabajar o sea tener las habilidades físicas y mentales para realizar una tarea determinada. No creo en lo que dicen muchas personas de que "ya no hay valores", sino que considero que los valores allí están, existen bajo todos los cielos estrellados, porque son Universales, y que somos nosotros los seres humanos los que no damos la talla, y no me curo en salud, porque los valores no se aprenden, podemos obtener las máximas calificaciones en asignaturas de Ética, pero ser malos ejemplos para otras personas, en nuestras acciones morales y nos verán como deshonestos, viciosos, mentirosos, etc. Porque los Valores no se enseñan ni se aprenden, sino que se viven. It observes and examines the social, cultural and relational processes involved as migrants, tourists and new residents converge with locals in daily life.

This book is an expanded, larger-format, and more highly illustrated version of a smaller book released by CEU Press in 2011. It presents and comments on an extensive set of religious and personal photographs and illustrations that depict people along with divine beings or absent loved ones. First, Christian examines the periodic appearances of Christ-like strangers in the Spanish countryside through the vision of a woman in La Mancha in 1931. Then he considers the long history of images with liquids on them not only for early modern Spain, but also in the United States, Italy and France in the 1940s and 1950s. The third and most extensive chapter addresses the iconography of illustrated depictions of divine and spirit beings in conjunction with humans and how its conventions were incorporated into commercial postcards and personal photographs, culminating in photo montages of families and their absent soldiers in World War I. The fourth theme is new to this edition. It compares the electric moments in Spanish communities when people ritually come into physical contact with saints and with animals, or transform themselves into saints or animals for ritual purposes. Over 50 of the color photographs by Spain's preeminent documentary photographer, Cristina García Rodero, are included.

This volume of collected essays explores the premise that Plutarch’s work, notwithstanding its amazing thematic multifariousness, constantly pivots on certain ideological pillars which secure its unity and coherence. So, unlike other similar books which, more or less, concentrate on either the Lives or the Moralia or on some particular aspect(s) of Plutarch’s œuvre, the articles of the present volume observe Plutarch at work in both Lives and Moralia, thus bringing forward and illustrating the inner unity of his varied literary production. The subject-matter of the volume is uncommonly wide-ranging and the studies collected here inquire into many important issues of Plutarchean scholarship: the conditions under which Plutarch’s writings were separated into two distinct corpora, his methods of work and the various authorial techniques employed, the interplay between Lives and Moralia, Plutarch and politics, Plutarch and philosophy, literary aspects of Plutarch’s œuvre, Plutarch on women, Plutarch in his epistemological and socio-historical context. In sum, this book brings Plutarchean scholarship to date by revisiting and discussing older and recent problematization concerning Plutarch, in an attempt to further illuminate his personality and work.
