Die KiVS 2007 dient der Standortbestimmung aktueller Entwicklungen, der Präsentation laufender Forschungsarbeiten und der Diskussion zukunftsträchtiger Ansätze für die Kommunikation in verteilten Systemen.

With the increasing reliance on digital means to transact goods that are retail and communication based, e-services continue to develop as key applications for business, finance, industry and innovation.Electronic Services: Concepts, Methodologies, Tools and Applications is an all-inclusive research collection covering the latest studies on the consumption, delivery and availability of e-services. This multi-volume book contains over 100 articles, making it an essential reference for the evolving e-services discipline.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the Third Asian Internet Engineering Conference, AINTEC 2007, held in Phuket, Thailand, in November 2007. The 14 revised full papers presented together with seven invited papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 66 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on wireless networks, mobility management, packet transmission, applications and services, network monitoring, and routing.

This book constitutes the postproceedings of the First International Conference on Energy-Efficient Computing and Networking, E-Energy, held in Passau, Germany in April 2010. The 23 revised papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected for inclusion in the post-proceedings. The papers are organized in topical sections on energy market and algorithms, ICT technology for the energy market, implementation of smart grid and smart home technology, microgrids and energy management, and energy efficiency through distributed energy management and buildings.

This volume constitutes the revised papers of the 4th European Conference on Smart Sensing and Context, Euro SSC 2009, held in Guilford, UK, in September 2009. This volume consists of 16 full papers. Each paper received at least three peer reviews. The conference and proceedings were structured into 6 main tracks which discussed the key themes addressed by EuroSCC 2009: activity recognition, information aspects of context-aware sensor and actuator systems, context-aware service platforms, context processing, reasoning and fusion, real-world experiences with deployed systems, and context-aware frameworks in mobile environments.

There are several anonymity architectures for Internet communication in use today. They are either unsafe or very complex. In this work the design, implementation and evaluation of an anonymity architecture that provides a high level of protection and is still simple enough to enable high-bandwidth, low-latency Internet communications is presented. The architecture uses a single-node anonymity service provider in combination with anonymity groups. The software components of the architecture consist of a client program for end-users, a server program for the anonymity service provider and a remote management component for the server program. To enable a high-bandwidth and low-latency communication between the client program and the server program a new high-performance IO-framework was designed and implemented.

This work addresses the inherent lack of control and trust in Multi-Party Systems at the examples of the Database-as-a-Service (DaaS) scenario and public Distributed Hash Tables (DHTs). In the DaaS field, it is shown how confidential information in a database can be protected while still allowing the external storage provider to process incoming queries. For public DHTs, it is shown how these highly dynamic systems can be managed by facilitating monitoring, simulation, and self-adaptation.
