John Johnston was born in 1733. He married Jane Freeman Moore. They had seven children. He died in about 1809 in Randolph County, North Carolina. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in North Carolina, Alabama and Texas.

John Johnston (1757-1832) was born in Culpeper County, Virginia. On July 31, 1832 John Johnston is in Henry County, Kentucky appearing before Price Nuttall, justice of the peace, to make a pension application for his military services in the revolution. His wife's name is unknown. His will was filed and recorded in December, 1832, which indicated, that he had four children: (1) John, born in Virginia abt. 1786; (2) Polly, born abt. 1788, married 1807 in Fayette Co., Kentucky, Thomas Frank, son of Robert and Elilzabeth Frank; (3) Sanford, born in Culpeper Co., Va. abt. 1790; (4) Matilda, born about 1791 in Culpeper Co., married 1814, John J. Berry of Henry Co., Kentucky. He was a son of John Berry. She died 1824, he 1857. Descendants live in Missouri, Kentucky and elsewhere.

John Phillips (1759-1839) served in the Revolutionary War, moved from Halifax County to Johnston County, North Carolina, and married twice. Descendants and relatives lived in North Carolina, Illinois, California and elsewhere.
