NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • Can’t get enough of Joe Goldberg? Don’t miss the latest thriller in Caroline Kepnes’s compulsively readable You series, with an all-new plot not seen in the blockbuster Netflix show. NAMED ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS OF THE YEAR BY MARIE CLAIRE • “Fiendish, fast-paced, and very funny.”—Paula Hawkins, #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Girl on the Train Joe Goldberg is done with the cities. He’s done with the muck and the posers, done with Love. Now he’s saying hello to nature, to simple pleasures on a cozy island in the Pacific Northwest. For the first time in a long time, he can just breathe. He gets a job at the local library—he does know a thing or two about books—and that’s where he meets her: Mary Kay DiMarco. Librarian. Joe won’t meddle, he will not obsess. He’ll win her the old-fashioned way . . . by providing a shoulder to cry on, a helping hand. Over time, they’ll both heal their wounds and begin their happily ever after in this sleepy town. The trouble is . . . Mary Kay already has a life. She’s a mother. She’s a friend. She’s . . . busy. True love can only triumph if both people are willing to make room for the real thing. Joe cleared his decks. He’s ready. And hopefully, with his encouragement and undying support, Mary Kay will do the right thing and make room for him.

However, all countercurrents must eventually rejoin the main channel. Only one Joe can exit the eddy and continue to live. Joe must journey back in time to the very birth of his soul to discover the connections in past lives that will affect his seemingly impossible decision on which Joe will exit the eddy.

John Dunn never expected that his summer job as a caddie at the local course in Connecticut might turn into something more. The lifers who plied the loops were an ensemble of misfits and degenerates who made the caddie yard look more like a gambling hall than a country club. But Dunn came of age in those yards and on those courses, and the magnetism of the game and the lifestyle proved irresistible. One adventure after another kept him coming back summer after summer, until he found himself migrating with the seasons, looping at some of the most exquisite and exclusive golf locations in the world. Dunn crisscrossed the country on his own big loop, working inside the privet hedges while camping on the mountains, following the back roads and stumbling across unexpected moments of profound natural beauty, and embracing the freedom of what he calls the last vagabond existence in America, all while trying to decide whether to quit the loop and get a real job. Maybe next season...

Joe Cobb grew up in Boston's North End. After graduating from Northeastern University with a degree in criminal justice, Joe joined the Cambridge Police Department and was known among the criminal element as the cop without mercy because of his strict interpretation of the law. After a few years of arresting bad guys, mostly young, he quit and told his chief he wasn't good as a cop because too many of the offenders he arrested returned to crime. Joe decided to become a priest in hopes of getting to the offenders before they turned to crime. After ordination, Joe enlisted in the US Army, became a chaplain, and was sent to war in Afghanistan, where his life was blown apart. Joe's medical discharge said he was suffering from PTSD, but his problems were bigger than traumatic stress. Father Joe returned from war with the conviction that he had been chosen by God to correct wrong wherever he found it. Father Joe took his mission seriously and quickly discovered that the parish he was assigned to in Dorchester sat in the middle of a poor neighborhood that was under attack by two competing gangs that were slowly killing the kids with cheap, dirty drugs. Father Joe declared war, and the battles began.
