A landmark collection of Martin Luther King Jr.’s best known homilies and sermons—with selections from Strength to Love. As Dr. King prepared for the Birmingham campaign in early 1963, he drafted the final sermons for Strength to Love, a volume of his most best-known homilies. King had begun working on the sermons during a fortnight in jail in July 1962. While behind bars, he spent uninterrupted time preparing the drafts for works such as “Loving Your Enemies” and “Shattered Dreams,” and he continued to edit the volume after his release. Full Sermon List: • A Tough Mind and a Tender Heart • Transformed Nonconformist • On Being a Good Neighbor • Love in action • Loving Your Enemies • A Knock at Midnight • The Man Who Was a Fool • The Death of Evil Upon the Seashore • Shattered Dreams • Our God is Able • Antidotes for Fear • The Answer to a Perplexing Question • Paul’s Letter to American Christians • Pilgrimage to nonviolence • The Drum Major Instinct • The Three Dimensions of a Complete Life A Gift of Love includes most of the classic sermons from Strength to Love, along with 2 new sermons. Collectively they present King’s fusion of Christian teachings and social consciousness, and promote his prescient vision of love as a social and political force for change.

It is a great honor and privilege to share this message of Love with you. I didn't realize that I was on a life journey of Love until a few weeks before I received this Divine writing from Jesus the Christ directly into my mind for me to share with you. The journey of Love I have been on for the last 10 years has taken me from not loving myself, to self-love, to loving myself completely, to feeling loving and loveable to others, to feeling loved and adored by God, and most recently practicing being someone who loves all the time. All these layers and definitions of Love that I have been practicing and experiencing have improved my life tremendously...and then I received this Divine message of Love from Jesus! "But how do we know that it's Jesus?", you may ask. I know from the way the message came into my mind, and then through my heart and soul. The warmth of the Loving energy of Jesus is beyond anything I have felt in my human form. Also, these words are so Divinely stated that it is beyond me to come up with something this good! As for you, you will have a knowing as you read the words. Feel them with your Heart and Soul. Feel them with the depths of your being. You will know. This message takes God's Love, and God's Love within you, to a greater level of understanding, knowing, depth and expansion. Thank you to Jesus for sharing this beautiful message so that everyone, everywhere can experience the Love of God in the way that he has. God Bless you all with God's Love! Daniel Prok

Based on Kurt Bennett's popular-ish blog God Running, Love Like Jesus begins with the story of how after a life of regular church attendance and Bible study, Bennett was challenged by a pastor to study Jesus. That led to an obsessive seven-year deep dive. After pouring over Jesus' every interaction with another human being, he realized he was doing a much better job of studying Jesus' words than he was following Jesus' words and example. The honest and fearless revelations of Bennett's own moral failures affirm he wrote this book for himself as much as for others. Love Like Jesus examines a variety of stories, examples, and research, including: -Specific examples of how Jesus communicated God's love to others. -How Jesus demonstrated all five of Gary Chapman's love languages (and how you can too). -The story of how Billy Graham extended Christ's extraordinary love and grace toward a man who misrepresented Jesus to millions. -How to respond to critics the way Jesus did. -How to love unlovable people the way Jesus did. -How to survive a life of loving like Jesus (or how not to become a Christian doormat). -How Jesus didn't love everyone the same (and why you shouldn't either). -How Jesus guarded his heart by taking care of himself--he even napped--and why you should do the same.-How Jesus loved his betrayer Judas, even to the very end. With genuine unfiltered honesty, Love Like Jesus, shows you how to live a life according to God's definition of success: A life of loving God well, and loving the people around you well too. A life of loving like Jesus.

Jesus Christ is The Gift of Love. Imagine a Christmas basket loaded with innumerable presents. Jesus is like that, overflowing with true blessings God has given freely, with love, to the world. Those who receive Jesus Christ are blessed with many gifts: joy, peace of mind, and the knowledge that a place in Heaven is being prepared for them. No earthly gifts can compare. There are two typical responses to a gift, particularly one for which you did not ask. You either receive it or you reject it. God gave us His only begotten Son, His best. Yet many do not accept all the benefits that come with Him."The Gift of Love" explains how important it is to know and appreciate the intrinsic value of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Pastor Adeboye defines some of the precious blessings which He represents and lets us know how to walk in them.

"Love is a gift from God, a sacred grace that invites us, indeed challenges us to respond with whatever capability we have within us to love God one another and his creation." With these words, Fr. Vladimir Berzonsky penetrates the sublime yet mysterious passages from the Song of Songs, I Corinthians and other books of the Bible which speaks of love. Much has been written in recent years about the differnce between erotic love called agape, which i both Christ-like and Christian; but it is the former type of love, according to Berzonsky, that conditions us for the latter. The Gift of Love suggests that we learn to love in stages, developing an ever greater power to become godlike in our affections, increasing our capacity to care less fo self and becoming filled with concern for God and all he made. The fifty-seven reflections in this book are written and intended to read separately, yet all deal with the underlying theme of love as expressed in the Bible.
