The 1st International Seminar on Language, Literature, Culture and Education (ISLLCE) is motivated by improving the quality of research and development relating to language, literature, culture and education field. Thus, this conference has aims: (1) to bring together the scientists, researchers and practitioners, and lecturers. (2) To share and to discuss theoretical and practical knowledge about language, literature, culture and education field. The conference took place in Universitas Halu Oleo, Kendari, Indonesia on November, 15th up to 16th 2019. Specifically, this conference can be used as a scientific forum for accommodating discussion among young researchers that originated from Indonesia in the field of Language, Literature, Culture and Education. Therefore, the invited speakers in this conference are the researchers that are well-known and reputable in the world. We would like to thank the organizing committee and the members of reviewers for their kind assistance in reviewing the papers. We would also extend our best gratitude to keynote speakers for their invaluable contribution and worthwhile ideas shared in the conference. Furthermore, ISLLCE is hoped to be able to be used as academic media to exchange ideas and as a result it will succeed in deciding the recommendation related to the language, literature, culture and education phenomenon.

This conference was held by Universitas Katolik Indonsia Santu Paulus Ruteng. We proudly present the proceedings of 2nd International Conference on Law, Economic and Governance 2021 (ICOLEG 2021). It focuses on how the wave of digitalization influences the ethics and law, especially in Law and Democracy, Law and Indigenous People, Law in Contemporary Issues, Law and Economics, Digital Economics, Good Governance etc. As we know, the world today is changing and the world we are facing now is the one where everything is connected. The contemporary social issues based on complex problems, complex interest, beyond borders and powers. More than 125 manuscripts from various countries were presented at this conference with around 66 of them selected to be published in proceedings. We hope by this conference, discussions on how research on Law, Economic and Government is possible in a disruptive era will give a perspective for the social and humanities studies development.

An Introduction to Bilingualism provides a comprehensive review of the most important aspects of individual and societal bilingualism, examining both theoretcial and practical issues. At the level of the individual, it addresses such questios as: What is involved in the study of bilingual children? What are the patterns of bilingual language acquisition? In which ways do the language competence and the speech of bilinguals differ from those of monolinguals? Topics that sometimes arouse controversy are explored - such as the question of whether there is a relationship between bilingualsim and a child's cognitive, psychological and social development. The book is also concerned with multilingualism, that is, bilingualsim as a societal phenomenon. It focuses on such issues as language choice in bilingual and multilingual communities, national identity and the education of bilinguals. The inclusion of several case studies of European linguistic minorities serves to exemplify the topics dealt with at the theoretical level and to illustrate the linguistic complexities found in contemporary Europe.

Translation Quality Assessment has become one of the key issues in translation studies. This comprehensive and up-to-date treatment of translation evaluation makes explicit the grounds of judging the worth of a translation and emphasizes that translation is, at its core, a linguistic art. Written by the author of the world’s best known model of translation quality assessment, Juliane House provides an overview of relevant contemporary interdisciplinary research on intercultural communication and globalization research, corpus and psycho- and neurolinguistic studies. House also acknowledges the importance of socio-cultural and situational context in which texts are embedded, and which need to be analysed when they are transferred through space and time in acts of translation but also highlights the linguistic art form of translation. The text includes a newly revised and presented model of translation quality assessment which, like its predecessor, relies on detailed textual and culturally informed contextual analysis and comparison. The test cases also show that there are two steps in translation evaluation: firstly analysis, description and explanation; secondly, judgements of value, socio-cultural relevance and appropriateness. The second is futile without the first: to judge is easy, to understand less so. Translation Quality Assessment is an invaluable resource for students and researchers of Translation Studies and Intercultural Communication, as well as for professional translators.

The book addresses the curricular, instructional, and assessment needs of upper grade elementary teachers who are struggling to promote literacy development in their English language learners. These students have already been transitioned, yet struggle with the increased literacy demands in the upper grades.
