El proceso de investigación socioeducativa requiere un análisis riguroso y objetivo, tratando de comprender la realidad y los fenómenos educativos. En la presente obra se detallan paradigmas, tipos de investigación educativa, estrategias, técnicas e instrumentos para propiciar un trabajo riguroso y estructurado. Se aborda el modo de fundamentar estudios y seleccionar fuentes documentales secundarias, así como la importancia y las relaciones del muestreo y los diseños de investigación. Se destacan claramente las principales pruebas paramétricas y no paramétricas y las condiciones en las que se deben aplicar. En definitiva, se detallan elementos relativos a la metodología en investigación, teniendo presente la validez y fiabilidad, recomendando la aplicación de los instrumentos oportunos, la recopilación de datos, la interpretación de resultados y la obtención de conclusiones, que responden a la hipótesis inicial y a los objetivos de la investigación.

This article collection aims to show an overview of the most recent research; ranging from the individual to the collective, from the subject's competencies and their beliefs, to the way to develop them from school. There is room in this Research Topic for investigations belonging to the linguistic, psychological, and didactic field. This Research Topic aims to address a pressing problem in contemporary world societies. It is proposed to offer various contributions related to critical literacy, in general, and reading and writing. In this sense, research that addresses analog and digital reading, writing processes, academic literacy, and the use of resources such as non-fiction illustrated books to develop critical thinking, will be welcome. La investigacion en el campo de la educacion esta al alcance de todo el mundo, este proceso se rige por una serie de reglas, todas estas normas vienen recogidas y expuestas de forma sencilla en "La investigacion educativa y el proceso a seguir." En este libro, el autor expone los fundamentos teoricos y los pasos practicos que se llevan a cabo a la hora de realizar una investigacion en el campo educativo, especialmente en el caso de la investigacion cuantitativa. En la primera parte se define el metodo cientifico, sus caracteristicas, su estructura y su aplicacion a las ciencias humanas y sociales. La segunda parte es una exposicion de las diferentes modalidades de investigacion en el campo educativo y define las principales herramientas estadisticas: parametros caracteristicos globales, instrumentos y requisitos que deben cumplir y demas propiedades que seran de ayuda a la hora de realizar este tipo de investigaciones.

The book is based on the exchange of professional experiences which featured in an IUCN CEC workshop in August 2002. Practitioners from around the world shared their models of good practice and explored the challenges involved in engaging people in sustainability. The difficulties facing practitioners vary between country and context but some challenges are universal: A lack of clarity in communicating what is meant by sustainable development; An ambition to educate everyone to bring about a global citizenship; Social, organisational or institutional factors constrain change to sustainable development, yet there is an emphasis on formal education, and community educators do not receive the same support; A lack of balance in addressing the integration of environmental, social and economic dimensions leading to an interpretation that ESD is mainly about environment and conservation issues; New learning (rather than teaching) approaches are called for to promote more debate in society. Yet, few are trained or experienced in these new approaches. Practitioners need support to explore new ways of promoting learning. [Foreword, ed].

In preparing this material, I have drawn most heavily upon my own research and that of my colleagues concerning the creative thinking of children, adolescents, and adults. Although my emphasis is upon the problems of highly creative children, I believe you will find these materials useful in guiding a wide range of creative talent at all age and educational levels. I have also attempted to give these research findings and observations meaning from my experience as a teacher, counselor, and principal in a high school and as a college teacher and counselor, roles in which I have met many highly creative individuals. I have also drawn upon my research concerning behavior under emergency and extreme conditions, especially situations involving coercion.
