The WWW has revolutionised educational institutions. Control education is an area that has been enhanced through web developments; an initiative to experiment and incorporate web-based technologies led to the birth of Web-Based Simulation (WBS). Control education is typically a domain where Web-Based Simulation successfully shows its potential of how current technology can support the sharing of information amongst large dispersed groups. Advances in Control Education 2003 - the 6th IFAC Symposium on Advances in Control Education was an international forum for scientists and practitioners involved in the field of control education to present their latest research, results and ideas. The symposium also aimed to disseminate knowledge and experience in alternative methods and approaches in education.
