Managing technological innovations and related policy and strategy issues have been a central focus of the new millennium. This book captures the messages from a workshop that brought together research managers from government, industry, and academia to review and discuss the mechanisms that have been proposed or used to assess the value of chemical research. This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 11th IFIP WG 5.5/SOCOLNET Advanced Doctoral Conference on Computing, Electrical and Industrial Systems, DoCEIS 2020, held in Costa de Caparica, Portugal, in July 2020.
