This book contains selected papers of the International Conference on Industrial Economics Systems and Industrial Security Engineering (IEIS 2020), which is co-organized by Beijing Jiaotong University, Budapest University of Technology and Economics, in July 25–28 2020. This book aims to provide new research methods, theories and applications from various areas of industrial economics and engineering. Cancer is a major public health concern and one of the leading causes of death. There is no simple solution for this complex disease, therefore interdisciplinary approaches might help to find solutions to many unanswered questions and challenges about cancer. The rapid flow of interdisciplinary research in cancer during recent years has increased our understanding of the nature of cancers. Such interdisciplinary approaches could be helpful for both the diagnosis and the development of more effective therapeutic strategies. The “Interdisciplinary Cancer Research” series publishes comprehensive volumes on different cancers and presents the most updated and peer-reviewed articles on human cancers. Over the past decade, increased cancer research has greatly improved our understanding of the nature of cancerous cells which has led to the development of more effective therapeutic strategies to treat cancers. This book includes the papers presented in 2nd International Conference on Image Processing and Capsule Networks [ICIPCN 2021]. In this digital era, image processing plays a significant role in wide range of real-time applications like sensing, automation, health care, industries etc. Today, with many technological advances, many state-of-the-art techniques are integrated with image processing domain to enhance its adaptiveness, reliability, accuracy and efficiency. With the advent of intelligent technologies like machine learning especially deep learning, the imaging system can make decisions more and more accurately. Moreover, the application of deep learning will also help to identify the hidden information in volumetric images. Nevertheless, capsule network, a type of deep neural network, is revolutionizing the image processing domain; it is still in a research and development phase. In this perspective, this book includes the state-of-the-art research works that integrate intelligent techniques with image processing models, and also, it reports the recent advancements in image processing techniques. Also, this book includes the novel tools and techniques for deploying real-time image processing applications. The chapters will briefly discuss about the intelligent image processing technologies, which leverage an authoritative and detailed representation by delivering an enhanced image and video recognition and adaptive processing mechanisms, which may clearly define the image and the family of image processing techniques and applications that are closely related to the humanistic way of thinking.

Since its launch in 2013, IRIS has observed more than 10 X-class, over 100 M-class and more than 600 C-class flares at unprecedented spatial and temporal resolution. Thanks to the rich diagnostics that cover the physical conditions of the solar atmosphere from the photosphere to the hottest parts of the flaring corona, IRIS observations have provided exciting new results and constraints on flare heating models, significantly expanding our knowledge of how flares are triggered, and how the non-thermal energy is released, propagates downward from the corona, and is deposited in the low atmosphere. At the same time, the new discoveries provided by IRIS have raised new unresolved questions and new challenges for theoretical models. For instance, current hydrodynamic models still cannot fully explain many features observed by IRIS during both the impulsive and gradual phases such as the dynamics of the evaporative/condensation flows, the large line broadenings, and the puzzling complex and broad chromospheric lines. In addition, important questions remain regarding the details of the energy propagation and dissipation in flares, the importance of Alfvén waves vs electron-beam and thermal conduction heating, and the effects from large-scale reconfiguration of the magnetic field during flares.
