The Icons came from the sky. They belong to an inhuman enemy. They ended our civilization, and they can kill us. Most of us. Dol, Ro, Tima, and Lucas are the four Icon Children, the only humans immune to the Icon's power to stop a human heart. Now that Los Angeles has been saved, things are more complicated - and not just because Dol has to choose between Lucas and Ro, the two great loves of her life. As she flees to a resistance outpost hidden beneath a mountain, Dol makes contact with a fifth Icon Child, if only through her visions. When Dol and the others escape to Southeast Asia in search of this missing child, Dol's dreams, feelings and fears collide in an epic showdown that will change more than just four lives -- and stop one heart forever. In this riveting sequel to Icons, filled with nonstop action and compelling romance, bestselling author Margaret Stohl explores what it means to be human and how our greatest weakness can be humanity's strongest chance at survival.

"From Idols to Icons tells the fascinating history of the dramatic shift in Christian attitudes toward sacred images from the third through the early seventh century. From attacks on the cult images of polytheism to the emergence of Christian narrative iconography to the appearance of portrait type representations of holy figures, this book examines the primary theological critiques as well as defenses of holy images in light of the surviving material evidence for early Christian visual art. Against the assumption that fourth- and fifth-century Christians simply forgot or ignored their predecessors' censure and reverted to more alluring pagan practices, Robin M. Jensen contends that each stage of this profound change was uniquely Christian. Through a careful consideration of the cult of saints' remains, devotional portraits, and pilgrimage to sacred sites, Jensen shows how the Christian devotion to holy images came to be rooted in their evolving conviction that the divinity was accessible in and through visible objects. Even the briefest glance at a museum's holdings or an introductory textbook demonstrates how profoundly influential this belief would be on the course of Western art for the next fifteen hundred years"--

Ro murmurs into my ear. "Don't be afraid, Dol. They're not coming for us." Still, he slips his arm around me and we wait until the sky is clear. Because he doesn't know. Not really. Everything changed on The Day. The day the Icon appeared in Los Angeles. The day the power stopped. The day Dol's family dropped dead. The day Earth lost a war it didn't know it was fighting. Since then, Dol has lived a simple life in the countryside with fellow survivor Ro-safe from the shadow of the Icon and its terrifying power. Hiding from the one truth she can't avoid. They're different. They survived. Why? When the government discovers their secret, they are forced to join faint-hearted Tima and charismatic Lucas in captivity. Called the Icon Children, the four are the only humans on Earth immune to the power of the Icons. Torn between brooding Ro and her evolving feelings for Lucas, between a past and a future, Dol's heart has never been more vulnerable. And as tensions escalate, the Icon Children discover that their explosive emotions-which they've always thought to be their greatest weaknesses-may actually be their greatest strengths. Bestselling author Margaret Stohl delivers a thrilling novel set in a haunting new world where four teens must piece together the mysteries of their pasts-in order to save their future.

FASHION INDUSTRY BROADCASTSTYLE ICONS Vol 2 HunksYou can't look at the mixed lineup of this lot and not ask yourself what is it that makes a man compelling? One universal might be pulling power. Warren Beatty with a hair drier or 007 with a Walther PPK both did a brisk trade in the sack and again we return to the mystique of Valentino, to pose a threat the volcano needs to be active not just a smoking threat. Hard men are good to find, or that is at least what Hollywood has learnt and yet each generation of Hunk Sapiens mutates subtly. The stars that we loved in the 80s and 90s are middle agedmen now and to some degree they fought for better roles with more depthof character, breaking the mould of grunty action hero or merely handsome romantic lead. This is true of the thinking woman's love Gods, Harrison Ford, Liam Neeson, Richard Gere and Viggo Mortensen but of little concern to the likes of Sly, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Mel Gibson the three icons of unreconstructed muscled manhood as famous for their off screen alpha rageas their onscreen battles.Harrison FordRobert Redford Clint Eastwood Sidney PoitierAli Sean Connery Jack Nicholson Arnold Schwarzenegger Sylvester Stallone Mel Gibson George Clooney Mick JaggerFashion Industry Broadcast's “STYLE ICONS”is a series:Masters of Music – Vol 1 Golden Boys Masters of Music – Vol 2 Hunks Masters of Music – Vol 3 Bombshells Masters of Music – Vol 4 Sirens Masters of Music – Vol 5 IdolsMasters of Music – Vol 6 Young GunsMasters of Music – Vol 7 Kittens Masters of Music – Vol 8 BabesFashion Industry Broadcast is a leading global publisher of lifestyle titles, this multi edition set has been created as a deluxe colour coffee table books for $45.00, eBooks for $9.99 from Amazon Kindle, Barnes and Noble Nook, Apple iBook's, Google books, Stanza and Kobo, Apps for mobile devices and a TV documentary series is also in the works.A very special video rich multimedia app version with hundreds and hundreds of original Hollywood films, interviews, movie scenes, behind the scenesshoots, and also embedded links to rent or purchase all their major movies right in the App is available through Apple's iTunes App store and other major App stores for just $4.99 per edition. In 1547, the young King Edward VI issued a series of religious injunctions that were intended to reform the Churches in England. Religious imagery was a tangible and permanent aspect of the landscape, both inside and outside churches. For many people, it was one of the first aspects of the Church to be reformed, and the degree to which it was reformed often was indicative of an individual's or community's theological leanings. Behind this destruction lay a longstanding debate over the nature, purpose, and appropriate uses of images, particularly in relation to worship and devotion. The Reformation lines between icon and idol, however, are much more difficult to identify than any single debate, event, or royal injunction would suggest. FromIcons to Idols tracks the image debate from the perspectives of both Protestants and Catholics across the period of religious change in England from 1525 to 1625. For scholars of the English Reformation, iconoclasm has played a major role in the historiographical disputes over the nature, length, and efficacy of Protestant reform. The fresh perspective of David J. Davis incorporates geography historical use and abuse, popular appeal, size, dimensions and what was represented.
