Scrappy presents the secrets of success—and they're simple! —from Lexington, NC mom, Brandi Temple, founder of Lolly Wolly Doodle, one of the largest online retailers on Facebook. Born from a hobby of sewing clothes for her daughters, Brandi Temple’s Lolly Wolly Doodle grew into one of the largest online retailers of children’s and family clothing. Brandi’s transition from a full-time mom to selling in flea markets to establishing a wildly successful e-Bay store and Facebook presence to becoming founder and CEO of a successful company was by no means easy, but each hardship only strengthened her resolve. Along the way, Brandi has kept both her faith and family at the forefront, while maintaining the positive attitude she is best known for. A business story layered onto a winning personal narrative, Scrappy is packed with her homespun (and seriously killer smart) philosophy: - Use all the scraps - Press the reset button as many times as you want - Know your customer by meeting her - Always act on an “ah ha” moment

The contemporary figure has somewhat similar characteristics to his father, grandfather, and great grandfather; a soul-searching thinker, all the same, departing from the ruinous while conserving the beneficial side of the culture, customs and manners in which he was raised and the larger generational dimensions embedded in it. A virtual page-turner, highly intense and graphically detailed, the saga continues to unfold. Characters readily identifiable in your own life, cheek by jowl with the hero and foe, stir and percolate the gamut of your emotions. Rooting for the one while despising the other, you’re propelled into the bowels of the narrative. Some personalities appear to be born evil and feed on the environs; others tend to virtue and progress upon it. Protagonists and antagonists are mixed and varied: some eternal optimists finding happiness even in dark periods; some risk takers in the will for clarity putting reputation on the line; some perpetually abstruse, their sad comfort zone; and the many up and down others. The Stanoli patriarch was fond of saying, “There is nothing greater than loving God and loving your neighbor,” and “I am a learner and willing to be corrected and criticized in order to become what I ought to become no matter where it comes from,” and “I make it my moral ambition to be happy around others.”

You can discover many simple joys in life to be thankful for, no matter how you feel or how many tears fall from your eyes today. How can it be, I asked myself, that at thirty-eight years of age Im watching all of my dreams crash into a giant brick wall? How will those I love the most deal with this news? What about our plans for continuing to do the work of the Lord? How will we finish the business plan that we have in full motion? Maybe the other ovary is okay, and I will still be able to have my first child before this gets really crazy. All of these life-impacting questions assaulted my mind. I felt a strong arm around my waist and heard my doctors voice say, Devaney, are you okay; can you hear me? The entire experience was like watching a horror movie programmed on fast forward. But at some point, a massive wave of calmness sweetly enveloped me like a thick fog, and it calmed the raging sea. Time came to a screeching halt and the issues of life, love, and relationships were narrowed to those that held eternal value. Many years after that fateful day of my cancer diagnosis in 2002, I can now say with assurance that I am an ordinary girl, but with an extraordinary calling and life in Christ. I have experienced how God calls ordinary people (regular girls and guys) to do extraordinary things for Him. Not all extraordinary things are packaged in missionary work abroad or preaching the gospel. Some include a simple faith-filled walk of perseverance and strength through sudden and extended suffering and loss. In the callings of God, some of the greatest impacts for His kingdom are the people who are called into action and those who are affected because of the one who is simply persevering and enduring. Heaven surely holds the treasures of each of these beautiful overcoming life works. I am thankful and blessed to have been called to walk in a small portion of His field. And so are you whether you see it clearly today, or not. Be inspired to relentlessly pursue joy Beyond the Place of Your Tears.

This book is about four famous actresses - Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly and Ingrid Bergman. Marilyn Monroe (1926 – 1962) was an American actress, model, and singer, who became a major sex symbol, starring in a number of commercially successful motion pictures during the 1950s and early 1960s. She received a Golden Globe Award for her performance in Some Like It Hot (1959). Monroe's last completed film was The Misfits (1961), co-starring Clark Gable, with a screenplay written by her then-husband, Arthur Miller. The final years of Monroe's life were marked by illness, personal problems, and a reputation for unreliability. The circumstances of her death, from an overdose of barbiturates, have been the subject of conjecture. Monroe was ranked as the sixth-greatest female star of all time by the American Film Institute and named No. 1 in Film's Sexiest Women of All Time. Audrey Hepburn (1929 – 1993) was a British actress recognized as a film and fashion icon. She was active during Hollywood's Golden Age. Hepburn was ranked by the American Film Institute as the third greatest female screen legend in the history of American cinema. She is also regarded by some to be the most naturally beautiful woman of all time. She spoke several languages including English, French, Dutch, Italian, Spanish, and German. Hepburn remains one of few people who have won Academy, Emmy, Grammy, and Tony Awards. Grace Patricia Kelly (1929 – 1982) was an American film actress who, after marrying Prince Rainier III, became known as the Princess of Monaco. Kelly gained stardom from her performance in the film Mogambo. This film won her a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award nomination in 1954. She had leading roles in five films, including The Country Girl, for which her performance earned her an Academy Award for Best Actress. She and Prince Rainier had three children: Caroline, Albert, and Stéphanie. Ingrid Bergman (1915 – 1982) was a Swedish actress who starred in a variety of European and American films. She won three Academy Awards, two Emmy Awards, four Golden Globe Awards and the Tony Award for Best Actress. She is ranked as the fourth greatest female star of American cinema of all time by the American Film Institute. She is best remembered for her roles as Ilsa Lund in Casablanca (1942), a World War II drama co-starring Humphrey Bogart, and as Alicia Huberman in Notorious (1946), an Alfred Hitchcock thriller co-starring Cary Grant. In 1950, she starred in the Italian film Stromboli, which led to a love affair with director Roberto Rossellini while they were both already married. The affair and then marriage with Rossellini created a scandal that forced her to remain in Europe until 1956, when she made a successful Hollywood return in Anastasia, for which she won her second Academy Award.
