Intended to complement the 1:250 000 scale Hydrogeology Map of Northern Ireland, this work provides an understanding of the hydrogeology of Northern Ireland and through this the enhanced production and development of groundwater resources. Incorporated within it are the results of most of the hydrogeological work undertaken both by the BGS and the GSNI in the area, including the BGS hydrogeological work undertaken both by the BGS hydrogeological survey carried out for the Environmental Service of the Department of the Environment for Northern Ireland between 1992 and 1994.

HYDROGEOLOGY Hydrogeology: Principles and Practice provides a comprehensive introduction to the study of hydrogeology to enable the reader to appreciate the significance of groundwater in meeting current and future environmental and sustainable water resource challenges.
