Then came the English lesson, following Harrington and Moor's First Book for non-english Speak ing People. I would repeat a sentence: 'this is my hand, head, arm or eye, ' pointing to the member named, and the class would say it after me several times, then try to write it on slates from a copy on the blackboard.
