Not illustrated. 1893 edition. Excerpt: ... RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATIONS. THE AMERICAN BIBLE SOCIETY. On January 11, 1869, a call signed by about twenty prominent citizens of Chetopa and Oswego was furnished for publication in the Advance and Register, for a meeting to be held on January 21st, for the purpose of organizing a Bible society.
