Excerpt from John Knox and the Town Council of Edinburgh: With a Chapter on the So-Called John Knox's House Adamson's house - whichever one of the three which he possessed it may have been - was situated. I have to acknowledge in connection with this latter part of the work, valuable assistance given me by Mr J. A. Wenley, Treasurer of the Bank of Scotland, in granting access to various Inventories of Title-deeds belonging to the Bank, which was the owner of much of Adamson's former property. These In ventories, along with certain old plans, enabled me to trace more readily than would otherwise have been possible, the connection between the owners in 1568 and 1898, and rendered easier an exact identification of the sites concerned.
