The town of Summerside was a commercial, agricultural and fishing hub in its heyday. Still a very active town, it boasts intriguing photographs that are included here with historical annotation.

This book tells the story of Alex B. Campbell, Prince Edward Island's longest-serving premier (1966-78) and the youngest person elected first minister in Canada in the 20th century. He led his province through a period of transformative change and stepped down in 1978 without ever having suffered electoral defeat. This is a come-the-moment, come-the-leader story with few parallels in Canadian history.

William Ching (d. 1791) of Woolfardisworthy, Devonshire, England was married to Mary of Bradworthy. They had eight children. Their great grandson William Ching (1819) immigrated with his wife Mary Ann Walter to Upper Canada in the 1850s, possibly settling in Ontario. They had seven children. Descendants live throughout Canada and the United States.
