Va destinado este libro, sobre todo, a los enseñantes de Matemáticas y, aunque su principal objetivo es mostrar la conveniencia del uso de la historia de las matemáticas en la enseñanza de la misma, no escondo que subyace ahí la necesidad de una seria reflexión sobre el sentido que pueda tener esta ciencia en la formación de los bachilleres en el cambio de milenio. Quisiera hacer partícipes de esta reflexión a los jóvenes profesores que en los institutos de Enseñanza Media se ganan la vida en la nada fácil tarea de transmitir a los alumnos las excelencias de la razón matematizante.
