Writes that he is shipping lime to Colonel Stevens and asks that he sell the lime for cash at a particular price. Also mentions a shipment of lumber which he is sending to another business associate.

Knox discusses his shipments of lime and lumber with Tousard. Mentions the difficulty in getting a vessel to go to Newport.

Writes that he has been unable to convince buyers that Knox's lime is as high in quality as the lime from Rhode Island, and provides the price he has been able to secure for Knox's lime. Discusses financial arrangements with Mr. [possibly Nicholas] Hoffman. Asks that Knox send him any more lime he has as soon as possible.

Writes that the articles Gleason asked for have been shipped via Captain [likely Edward] Kelleran. Discusses the difficulties his lime business is facing, as well as his current economic difficulties.

Knox tells Peirce he has loaded vessels with lime and lumber. Knox informs Peirce about the instructions Knox gave to his nephew Thomas Flucker. Knox will be at his wits' end if Thomas does not board the Constitution.

Mentions his receipt of Sumner's letters, which apparently crossed his in the post. Discusses the hiring of workmen for his estate, and his instructions to Mr. [John] Gleason on the subject. Also provides information about the upcoming arrival of Captain [Edward] Kelleran, who is bringing on his vessel a shipment of lime.
