Heart disease and cancer are the top two killers in this country, with prescription drugs being the third leading cause of death. When a smoke detector goes off, a wise person checks for a fire, the cause for the smoke alarm siren. Symptoms are your body's smoke alarms, warning you something is wrong, pleading for you to put out the fire. Taking prescription drugs to treat the symptoms without ever addressing the cause is equivalent to turning off the smoke alarm without ever putting out the fires, thinking the problem is fixed. This is killing more than 250,000 Americans each year.We don't have a health-care system in this country. We have a disease-maintenance system that generates billions of dollars for Big Pharma while keeping Americans sick on drugs. Like a fire raging out of control, diseases are running rampant, claiming lives every day. Elderly people are suffering with dementia and Alzheimer's, while young children are diagnosed with diabetes, autism and autoimmune disorders. It is time to stop treating symptoms, and it is time to stop doing that with drugs whose side effects are sometimes worse than the disease being treated. Instead, let us find the cause and extinguish the fires. Healing Poisoned Medicine offers a powerful, no-holds-barred approach to eliminating toxic prescription drugs and replacing them with safe and effective natural medicine. Our bodies are made to self-heal. To heal, we need cellular tools. Within the pages of this book are the secrets to vibrant health used by the greatest doctors around the world. Big Pharma does not want you to know these secrets, because they lose your business when you are healthy and drug-free. This eye-opening book takes a hard look at science and shatters the medical myths that keep Americans sick, diseased and dependent upon drugs. If you are ready to take charge of your health, this book has been written to empower you with health wisdom.Dr. Reed Sainsbury shares common-sense and scientific research on how patients can reclaim their health by using nutritional therapies, herbs, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, enzymes and homeopathy to provide the body with the best tools necessary to repair and heal disease.

Open access edition: DOI 10.6069/9780295749013 At first glance, medicine and poison might seem to be opposites. But in China’s formative era of pharmacy (200–800 CE), poisons were strategically employed as healing agents to cure everything from abdominal pain to epidemic disease. Healing with Poisons explores the ways physicians, religious figures, court officials, and laypersons used toxic substances to both relieve acute illnesses and enhance life. It illustrates how the Chinese concept of du—a word carrying a core meaning of “potency”—led practitioners to devise a variety of methods to transform dangerous poisons into effective medicines. Recounting scandals and controversies involving poisons from the Era of Division to the Tang, historian Yan Liu considers how the concept of du was central to how the people of medieval China perceived both their bodies and the body politic. He also examines the wide range of toxic minerals, plants, and animal products used in classical Chinese pharmacy, including everything from the herb aconite to the popular recreational drug Five-Stone Powder. By recovering alternative modes of understanding wellness and the body’s interaction with foreign substances, this study cautions against arbitrary classifications and exemplifies the importance of paying attention to the technical, political, and cultural conditions in which substances become truly meaningful. Healing with Poisons is freely available in an open access edition thanks to TOME (Toward an Open Monograph Ecosystem) and the generous support of the University of Buffalo.

An in-depth investigation of traditional European folk medicine and the healing arts of witches • Explores the outlawed “alternative” medicine of witches suppressed by the state and the Church and how these plants can be used today • Reveals that female shamanic medicine can be found in cultures all over the world • Illustrated with color and black-and-white art reproductions dating back to the 16th century Witch medicine is wild medicine. It does more than make one healthy, it creates lust and knowledge, ecstasy and mythological insight. In Witchcraft Medicine the authors take the reader on a journey that examines the women who mix the potions and become the healers; the legacy of Hecate; the demonization of nature’s healing powers and sensuousness; the sorceress as shaman; and the plants associated with witches and devils. They explore important seasonal festivals and the plants associated with them, such as wolf’s claw and calendula as herbs of the solstice and alder as an herb of the time of the dead--Samhain or Halloween. They also look at the history of forbidden medicine from the Inquisition to current drug laws, with an eye toward how the sacred plants of our forebears can be used once again.
