Our heritage is rooted in a tradition that began more than 250 years ago when John Wesley established the Holy Club and the Methodist Society at King's College, Oxford University. In 1784, he also founded Kingswood School which continues to serve today. Wesley was committed to "education for the common good." He believed education was important for the faith and critical for service in the world. Wesley's dedication to education started a movement that established not only churches but also schools.
