The title alludes to a young black male using the pages that he writes to "fly" his way into a better life. Wings that are not only used for his personal gain but wings made of pages that will uplift cultures, generations and genders to a state of financial independence, mental stability and emotional conciseness. Throughout the prose, poetry, short stories and streams of consciousness-there are letters written to an unknown lover. Each letter seems to grow intensely passionate each time another letter appears. The writer seems to be expressing a lost and lust for her love and it appears as if she has been the only underlying subject in his chaotic moments that have been keeping him grounded. The material included in this medium of art is both fiction and non-fiction-used interchangeably to challenge the imagination of the reader, due to the heavy influence of the factual/ "alternative fact" saturated information age we currently reside.

It has been nine long years since the car accident, which sent Tristabelle Kelley on a catatonic journey to theKingdom of the Green Glass Straw. But occasionally, Trista still dreams of the Kingdom and Aunt Emma, the doting caretaker who resides there. Letting her mind carry her back to the day she found herself standing on Aunt Emma's porch, Trista recalls her time at the Kingdom—memories too fantastic to be real, but too vivid to simply be a dream. Unsure of the circumstances of her arrival, Trista and her new friends soon embark on an adventure complete with fairies, trolls, a mysterious cave, an enchanted house—and, of course, the magic green glass straw. Eventually, after Trista regains consciousness in the hospital, she learns to accept that the entire episode was induced by injuries she sustained in the crash. However, an unusual birthday gift from her grandmother shakes her to the core, sending her on a quest to investigate theKingdom of the Green Glass Straw. Is it just a figment of her imagination, or does it actually exist? And, most importantly, how does she fit into the picture as aChild from Another Time and Place?

Buildings are neither conceived nor realized by architects in a vacuum; the architect forms part of a larger team of builders, craftsmen, engineers and other experts who join forces to bring together their diverse fields of knowledge. This book describes the design and development of the building process for the wings at the Yitzhak Rabin Centre in Tel Aviv, and demonstrates how collaborative building, technical design and development can lead in an integrated and innovative, but risky process to an extreme innovation, an Octatube ‘Moonshot’. The challenge posed by the Rabin Centre wings was to develop an entirely novel technology for constructing free form shells. It is necessary for many disciplines to collaborate in such a process, and these must be coordinated throughout the entire process, including all of its unforeseen and experimental stages. The results of the process then have to be integrated into one technical artifact that satisfies all requirements and delivers effective answers or compromises in all of its life phases, be that conceptual design, material design, detail design, engineering, production, assembly, installation, loading behavior, functional use as a building, meaning of the building as an artifact (even as architecture) and, in both its local and global context, in its meaning as an integral part of the building.

Claire, a glasswing butterfly whose transparent wings reflect her lush home, finds herself lost in the city after being separated from her family. She doesn’t know how they will ever see her, but she finds new city friends, a pigeon, an ant, and a ladybug, who search for the flowers Claire needs to live. They come upon a tiny urban garden, and as Claire drinks from the flowers’ nectar, she pollinates more flowers. Soon the garden—and Claire's clear wings—fill with color, allowing her family to recognize her at last. Together they create an oasis for all to enjoy. Facts about glasswing butterflies and pollination complete this beautiful and educational picture book. Kleven’s latest offering is as colorful and delicate as a butterfly’s wings—a treasure that can be cherished for years.
