Everyone starts out life relying on others. Usually, these are family members, and it's not uncommon for people to depend on them well into their twenties. But ultimately people must search for something more meaningful. The fortunate ones move toward caring for others, an impulse that is part of the DNA that God planted in humanity. This group includes people such as Mother Teresa, Martin Luther King Jr., Albert Schweitzer, and many others, some of whom are featured in this book. Author Don Johnson admires these people because they made a conscious choice to care for others. It is the same decision he made years ago when he was struggling to find a direction in life. After a lot of prayer and soul-searching, he decided to become a minister. In God's Implanted DNA, Johnson recalls what it was like growing up in a Baptist family and then starting a family of his own; he also shares his thoughts on God's teachings. Join him as he explores how much good can result when people give themselves up for the sake of others to find true happiness.

Paulette Meeks, former Daughter of Charity and author of The Best For Last: One Womans Unusual Tale of Life and Love I enjoyed this book. Dr. Mendes Loves handling of a variety of delicate subjects shows her deftness, aplomb, and confidence in her research. The chapter on sin is an exemplary treatise on a subject with sharp, jagged edges. I thank Dr. Mendes Love for speaking so freely of aging with great purpose and direction. Her scholarly, grandmotherly, sweet slap is a welcome wakeup call. Brett Jones, Senior Pastor, Grace Church of Humble, Texas This book will inspire the reader. Powerful evidence for the existence of a personal God! Information is the cornerstone of life, yet it is something people don't often think about. In his fascinating new book, In the Beginning Was Information, Dr. Werner Gitt helps the reader see how the very presence of information reveals a Designer: Do we take for granted the presence of information that organizes every part of the human body, from hair color to the way internal organs work? What is the origin of all our complicated data? How is it that information in our ordered universe is organized and processed? Gitt explains the necessity of information - and more importantly, the need for an Organizer and Originator of that information. The huge amount of information present in just a small amount of DNA alone refutes the possibility of a non-intelligent beginning for life. It all points to a Being who not only organizes biological data, but also cares for the creation.

Pine Drive Baptist Church had been devastated by Hurricane Harvey in August 2017. Then after the recovery from Harvey, the COVID-19 pandemic had a devastating effect on the nation and particularly on the churches in America. These daily messages of His Hands, His Feet, and His Voice are intended to bring encouragement, hope, and strength from God’s inerrant Word to those who desperately need His touch. These messages are also intended to encourage you to give to the Lord your hands, feet, and voice as His instrument in response to the many crying out to Him in fear, uncertainty, and need for wisdom. It is my heartfelt prayer that God will inspire you to trust in Him with all your heart, no matter what you see in the world around you or even how you may feel at any given time. God’s Word is filled with thousands of promises, some of which pertain to whatever crisis or situation you may encounter. In America and our culture today, these hands, feet, and voice messages will help you to stand strong, even for one more day, and then pass them along to those who need the reminder: God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though it waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling. (Ps. 46:1–3 ESV)

This interdisciplinary study follows an international and ecumenical meeting of twenty-four scholars held in New York at Easter 2000: the Incarnation Summit. After an opening chapter, which summarizes and evaluates twelve major questions concerning the Incarnation, five chapters are dedicated to the biblical roots of this central Christian doctrine. A patristic and medieval section corrects misinterpretations and retrieves for today the significance of the Council of Chalcedon (AD 451) and its aftermath, as well as clarifying Aquinas' enduring metaphysical interpretation of the Incarnation. The volume then moves to theological and philosophical debates: three scholars take up such systematic issues as belief in the Incarnation, the self-emptying that it involves, and its compatibility with divine timelessness. The remaining four essays consider the place of the doctrine of the Incarnation in literature, ethics, art, and preaching. There is a fruitful dialogue between experts in a wide range of areas and the international reputation of the participants reflects and guarantees the high quality of this joint work. The result is a well researched, skilfully argued, and, at times, provocative volume on the central Christian belief: the Incarnation of the Son of God.
