When I believed God chose the wrong person, I was thinking about me, not Him. I saw my brokenness as a handicap, not an asset. How could He use my insecurity, low self-esteem, financial struggle, bluntness, perfectionism, awkwardness, and failure for good? The wrong person is always the right person to God. Think about it? he used a prostitute, a murderer, a widow, a criminal, fishermen, a tax collector, a boy with some bread and fish, all the seemingly wrong people, to change the world. He chooses all the wrong people, because in His perfect plan, He sent Jesus, to transform us into all the right people. My heart is full realizing the treasure of being the wrong person. When God chooses 'the wrong person' you have a front row seat to the miracles of what only He can do. He knows you cannot do it. He knows you know you cannot do it. Your life is fully His and He chooses to do with your life what will be for His glory and not yours. God chose me, who I can prove is the wrong person, because He wants the glory of making me the right person. The moment people think of us and immediately think of Jesus, we will be on our way to leaving a legacy.

The heroes of the Bible werent any more gifted or powerful than you are. They were flawed, ordinary people living ordinary lives and doing ordinary things. Their struggles and temptations were no different from ours. But they allowed their ordinary lives to be interrupted by God, who is anything but ordinary. They chose to obey God when they did not necessarily see a happy ending. And when they did, what we see as a remarkable hero in the Bible is just an ordinary person reflecting the glory of God. Our capabilities are far less influential than the choices we make, and our choices become the stories of our lives. We can continue to serve the pain of our past and be held captive by what we wish we could change, or we can let our belief in the power of God overshadow the size of our enemy and the depth of our weakness. God doesnt need heroes. He wants you. His power and glory are most evident in your weakness. Your past is never too complicated or too far gone for God to redeem into something beautifulresurrection is His specialty.

Are There Two Wills in God? Divine Election and God's Desire for All to Be Saved In this short, theological essay, John Piper builds a scriptural case that God's unconditional election unto salvation is compatible with God's genuine desire and offer for all to be saved. Helping us to make sense of this seemingly paradoxical relationship, Piper wisely holds both truths in tension as he explores the Bible's teaching on this challenging topic, graciously responds to those who disagree, and motivates us to passionately proclaim the free offer of the gospel to all people.

What can one man do? History is filled with world-changing events that turned on the hinge of a single person taking action. Their decisions and words shaped the world later generations came to inhabit. In The Power of One Man, author Ron Archer examines biblical figures who changed the world in which they lived, then applies those lessons to the challenges men face today—deftly weaving the narrative with stories of both failure and success in his own life in a way that is not only educational, but inspirational. Most of the social problems in our culture stem from an epidemic of fatherlessness. But as Ron’s own life demonstrates, God has a plan to redeem and restore those areas by redeeming and restoring men themselves—one individual at a time. What can God do with just one man? Anything He wants to—if you let Him.

For almost three thousand years, people have prayed and sung the Psalms. Like those who have gone before us, when we are filled with joy, we will discover fuel in these ancient songs for even higher praises. And when we are going through the valley of deepest darkness, we will find in the Psalms light shining upon us, driving the shadows of doubt away. Prayers on Fire includes 365 prayers inspired by the book of Psalms from the heart-felt Passion Translation. Each day contains an excerpt from the Psalms and then a prayer from the heart, providing an expression of faith and worship for sincere worshipers. Open your heart as you open the pages of this book. Here you will find God as your shelter of strength. “As I’m hidden within your greatness, I discover your eternal purposes. In love and humility I bow before you, my awe-inspiring God. The way you watch over me, infuses me with confidence and courage. You are my source; I draw life from the waters of your love. Walking step by step with you brings me joy unlike I’ve ever known. Your Word illuminates my path, and wherever I go, I flourish. No matter the season, I’m blessed—established firmly in you.” (Inspired by Psalm 1:2)

Christians know church is important, but sometimes it doesn't seem worth it. An eclectic assortment of people with differing personalities, political views, and parenting styles can make for awkward interactions and difficult connections. What’s the point of putting in the tough work to build relationships? But the Bible says God’s people ought to be bound together. It uses words like beloved, brothers and sisters, saints, and fellow laborers to describe their mutual relationship in the church. In this book, Megan Hill answers a common question of churchgoers: What’s so great about the church? With rich theology, practical direction, and study questions for group use, Hill encourages and equips both first-time visitors and regular members to delight in being a part of the local church—no matter how messy and ordinary it seems today. It is only when God’s people begin to see one another as the Lord sees them that they will truly find a place to belong.
