Gittens-Hans is an active member of her church community, including helping the homeless. She holds fundraisers at her home every October called Kozyfest, where attendees bring items for the homeless. She then bags them up and distributes them on New Year's Day. In her spare time Gittens-Hans enjoy writing, coloring, dancing, collecting Snapple caps, gardening and walking through the forest. She loves spending time with her family most of all. In 1998 Lionel J Gittens received the distinction of a Member of the International Society of Poets. In 2002 his presentation "Omega" was selected for publication in Memories Of The Millennium The Best Poems and Poets of the 20th century. Both father and daughter were born on the twin island Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.

United States Marine Corps Base, Quantico, Virginia Sitting anxiously in the executive office at the Judge Advocate General’s headquarters, Katherine was trying hard to focus on the words Colonel Rose Marie Favors was speaking, but her mind was reeling. This can’t be happening to me! Katherine silently screamed as she heard Colonel Favors say something about the military press corps, a subpoena, and gag order. Now on autopilot, Katherine took the court subpoena from Colonel Favors’s outstretched hand and was assured it was “just a formality.” How could meeting and falling so deeply in love with one man—no, wait!—one extraordinary man, end in such heart-wrenching betrayal, unconscionable crime, and worldwide sensationalism? Movies were made of lesser stuff than this! Katherine closed her eyes for a few seconds. Lord, please forgive me for my part in all this and grant me the courage to do what I know I must do, she silently prayed. Opening her eyes, a fiery determination set in Katherine’s jaw—nothing was going to stop her from righting all the wrongs committed by Navy Captain Roger D. Edwards and seeing justice done.

The aim of this thesis is to unfold the multilayered intersubjective experience of the author himself, a Chinese pastor. The author postulates himself as the subject in whom the said experience was evident, so that it can be analyzed and interpreted. Theauthor argues for a cultural-linguistic experience of shi as the locus at which the intersubjective experience takes place. He then shows that such experience embodies a Chinese Christian's 'two texts' inheritance, and argues that it is through unfoldingor revealing of such experience that the nature of his relationship with them can be demonstrated.
