NOUS PROPOSONS LES PRINCIPES D'UN OUTIL DE GESTION DE LA QUALITE DU PROJET DE BATIMENT EN COURS DE CONCEPTION ARTICULE SELON DEUX AXES: 1) UNE REPRESENTATION DE LA QUALITE METTANT EN RELIEF LA SATISFACTION FONCTIONNELLE APPORTEE PAR LES ELEMENTS DU PROJET ET LES INTERACTIONS FONCTIONNELLES ENTRE ELEMENTS; 2) UN PROCESSUS D'AMELIORATION DE LA QUALITE DU BATIMENT BASEE SUR UNE ANALYSE PERMETTANT D'IDENTIFIER LES DYSFONCTIONNEMENTS ET SUR UNE RECHERCHE DE MODIFICATIONS REDUISANT CES DYSFONCTIONNEMENTS. POUR LE PREMIER AXE, NOUS PROPOSONS UN MODELE DU PROJET EN COURS DE CONCEPTION DECRIVANT LE BATIMENT PAR DES OBJETS PHYSIQUES, OBJETS POLYMORPHES COMPORTANT LES TROIS POLES SYSTEMIQUES: MORPHOLOGIE, FONCTIONS, EVOLUTION. NOUS EXPLOITONS CE MODELE EN PRESENTANT UN CONSTAT QUALITE DU BATIMENT POUR UNE PARTIE REDUITE DU PROJET DEFINIE PAR UN CONCEPTEUR: SON POINT DE VUE. DANS LE CADRE DE L'AMELIORATION DE LA QUALITE, NOUS UNIFIONS ANALYSE DU PROJET ET RECHERCHE DE SOLUTIONS EN UN UNIQUE PROCESSUS DE DIAGNOSTIC DE PROBLEMES DE CONCEPTION BASE SUR UNE DEMARCHE DESCENDANTE D'IDENTIFICATION DE PROBLEMES COURANTS QUE L'ON CHERCHE A RECONNAITRE AU SEIN DU PROJET. NOUS MODIFIONS UNE METHODE ISSUE DE L'INTELLIGENCE ARTIFICIELLE: LE DIAGNOSTIC PAR RECONNAISSANCE DE PROTOTYPES; AFIN DE L'ADAPTER AUX SPECIFICITES CONJOINTES DU PROJET DE BATIMENT ET DE LA RECHERCHE D'AMELIORATION DE LA QUALITE. LES HYPOTHESES PRESIDANT AU DEVELOPPEMENT DE CETTE METHODE SONT VALIDEES PAR LA PRESENTATION D'UN RESEAU DE PROBLEMES DE CONCEPTION THEORIQUE ET LES RESULTATS D'UNE EXPERTISE MENEE AUPRES DE SPECIALISTES DE LA CONCEPTION DES BATIMENTS

Process Engineering, the science and art of transforming raw materials and energy into a vast array of commercial materials, was conceived at the end of the 19th Century. Its history in the role of the Process Industries has been quite honorable, and techniques and products have contributed to improve health, welfare and quality of life. Today, industrial enterprises, which are still a major source of wealth, have to deal with new challenges in a global world. They need to reconsider their strategy taking into account environmental constraints, social requirements, profit, competition, and resource depletion. “Systems thinking” is a prerequisite from process development at the lab level to good project management. New manufacturing concepts have to be considered, taking into account LCA, supply chain management, recycling, plant flexibility, continuous development, process intensification and innovation. This book combines experience from academia and industry in the field of industrialization, i.e. in all processes involved in the conversion of research into successful operations. Enterprises are facing major challenges in a world of fierce competition and globalization. Process engineering techniques provide Process Industries with the necessary tools to cope with these issues. The chapters of this book give a new approach to the management of technology, projects and manufacturing. Contents Part 1: The Company as of Today 1. The Industrial Company: its Purpose, History, Context, and its Tomorrow?, Jean-Pierre Dal Pont. 2. The Two Modes of Operation of the Company – Operational and Entrepreneurial, Jean-Pierre Dal Pont. 3. The Strategic Management of the Company: Industrial Aspects, Jean-Pierre Dal Pont. School Construction Strategies for Universal Primary Education in Africa' examines the scope of the infrastructure challenge in Sub-Saharan Africa and the constraints to scaling up at an affordable cost. It assesses the experiences of African countries with school planning, school facility designs, and construction techniques, procurement and implementation arrangements over the past thirty years. It reviews the roles of the various actors in the implementation process: central and deconcentrated administrations, local governments, agencies, social funds, NGOs, and local communities. Drawing upon extensive analysis of data from over 200 250 projects sponsored by the World Bank and other donor agencies, the book draws lessons on promising approaches to enable African countries to scale up the facilities required to achieve the EFA goals and MDGs of complete quality primary education for all children at the lowest marginal cost.
