Michael Hinneshied/Hendershot (1674-1749) was born near Mainz, Rhineland-Pfalz, Germany. He arrived in America in 1710 with his wife, Anna Catherina, and four children. They settled in Somerset County, New Jersey. Descendants (also spelling the surname Hendershott) lived throughout the United States.
