Chronicles of Avonlea is a collection of short stories, related to the Anne of Green Gables series. It features an abundance of stories relating to the fictional Canadian village of Avonlea, and was first published in 1912. The basis of this collection is a typescript by L.M. Montgomery entitled "The Blythes Are Quoted" that was found in her surviving papers by her son, Dr. E. Stuart Macdonald. The typescript consisted of a mix of short stories, poems, and vignettes. L.M. Montgomery, was a Canadian author best known for a series of novels beginning in 1908 with Anne of Green Gables.
