William Frazer, a descendant of the Scottish Highland Clan Fraser of Lovat, came to America in the 1720s, settling in Fredericksburg, Virginia. The “Frasers,” now known as “Frazers” continued their steadfast spirit in these new lands of America. The many lives of the Frazers in this writing descended from this one man and his wife Frances. Join us as we trace their footsteps through eight generations and numerous historical events.

Louis DeFoy (fl. 1695-1696) immigrated from Poitou, France to Batiscan, Quebec and married widow Marie-Charlotte (Hebert/Charebert) Lesieur in 1696. Descendants and relatives lived in Quebec and elsewhere in Canada. Augustin DeFoy (1788-1890), a direct descendant, married Roseline Vezina in February 1827 at Quebec, Quebec. They immigrated to Burlington, Vermont, where they were married again in October 1827, using the names of Justin Fraser and Roseline DeFoi. Chiefly this record contains the lineage between Louis DeFoy and Augustin DeFoy/also known as/Justin Fraser. It also includes the French ancestry of DeFoy and other related families. Consequently most of the genealogical data contained in this record is in the province of Quebec, with much data in France, and only a little data in Vermont, New York and elsewhere.
