Fine illustrations (241 color) were hand-drawn by the author using as models museum pieces, photos, and jewelry that is still worn as part of traditional costume. Virtually all types of jewelry are represented: brooches, pendants, and ear and nose rings, ornate headdresses and breastplates, belts and bags, as well as shell and beadwork.
