Fifty-Five Fathers: Real Men Share Their Stories and Life Lessons about Their Own Fathers by Jeff Paisley busts the biggest myth about men, men do talk. And they have a lot to say. Men will read these stories to get clarification, validation, and maybe advice. Women will read them to see what is going in men's minds and hearts. Fifty-Five Fathers is your chance to share as fifty-five men from 18 to 80 and various backgrounds reveal hundreds of personal stories about growing up with their dads. Each man's chapter is 2 to 8 pages long. After Jeff's father passed away, he started asking his male friends about their fathers. Those stories were so memorable, funny, and insightful, that he sought out and recorded the interviews of fifty-five men as they each answered ten questions about their fathers. Jeff is a recently retired English and Computer high school teacher with thirty years of classroom experience. Fifty-Five Fathers is his opportunity to bring these real men, their memories, and their fathers to you. "Jeff Paisley has written a fascinating book. A lot of these guys were wacky, terrific, fun, really free-spirited people." Pat McMahon of The Pat McMahon Show, AZTV "This is a great book about sons and their memories/relationships with their fathers. In the short time since I have read it, it has helped me understand what my son may need from me as a father." Clay Johnston "This is quite a book. It's terrific-great dynamics between Father and Son. Please buy it." Dan Davis of Good Morning Arizona, KTVK fiftyfivefathers.com

It's been a century since the last murder in Rosemont, Utah. Until former detective Tomas Arnesen showed up to quietly "retire" as Rosemont's new Chief of Public Safety, more than a century had passed in the quaint town without a murder. But when his best friend breaks that streak and becomes the first in a string of far-too-similar killings, Arnesen must fight to prevent history from repeating itself. Tomas will war with his past, the town's history, and even those closest to him to bring Rosemont's first serial killer to justice. If he fails, he'll lose the woman who's always adored him, the chance to redeem his hot-headed past, and possibly his life. By unraveling the secrets of a small town whose history can't hide lies forever, Arnesen knows: ultimately, someone must pay for the sins of the five fathers.

Self-initiation is killing our young men. Without strong mentors, boys are walking alone into a wilderness of conflicting messages about who they should be as men. It's no wonder that our sons are confused about what the world expects from them and what they should expect of themselves. The Intentional Father is the antidote. This concise book is filled with practical steps to help men raise sons of consequence--young men who know what they believe, know who they are, and will stand up against the negative cultural trends of our day. Jon Tyson lays out a clear path for fathers and sons that includes specific activities, rites of passage, and significant "marking moments" that can be customized to fit any family. It's not enough to hope our sons will become good men. We need them to be good at being men. This book shows how fathers, grandfathers, and other male mentors can lead the way.

This is a fast paced DND book. About the mages of the world . A mage is anyone who uses magic . Wizards , witches , alchemist , sorcerers , and sorceress are all examples of a mage . The science of magic is based on the philosophy that all technology and science is magic until it is understood . Quantum physics is an attempt to understand a deeper magic . Rubbing two sticks together to start a fire was magic in the beginning . But to use magic you don’t have to understand all the underling physics . You simply have to believe and know the process . Someday maybe science will understand astral projection , telepathy , telekinesis and other mental magical feats . If so it will probably be quantum physics that makes the break through . You don’t have to look far in the modern world to see magic . Look at your cell phone , your computer , your high definition television or even a simple light bulb . All these things are in a sense the science of magic . Where magic has become common place . You see and use it everyday . There was a time only wizards had such power available to them . At times through out history you would have been put to death for displaying such power . For if government could not control the power they were threatened by the power . Thus Mageville was created by society to isolate and control the uncontrollable magic . Until a time when the government could harness the power for its use . Thus through a joint effort by wizards and government we have harnessed lasers , flight , radio waves and all the other modern conveniences we take for granted . But most of the governments of the world have a city like Mageville . And the war of magic and technology rages on world wide . The common mortal mankind oblivious to the war . But a great cycle of civilization is underway . Unstoppable in its momentum . The world will learn the price of magic . The world is about to have a DND experience

Common stereotypes portray black fathers as being largely absent from their families. Yet while black fathers are less likely than white and Hispanic fathers to marry their child's mother, many continue to parent through cohabitation and visitation, providing caretaking, financial, and other in-kind support. This volume captures the meaning and practice of black fatherhood in its many manifestations, exploring two-parent families, cohabitation, single custodial fathering, stepfathering, noncustodial visitation, and parenting by extended family members and friends. Contributors examine ways that black men perceive and decipher their parenting responsibilities, paying careful attention to psychosocial, economic, and political factors that affect the ability to parent. Chapters compare the diversity of African American fatherhood with negative portrayals in politics, academia, and literature and, through qualitative analysis and original profiles, illustrate the struggle and intent of many black fathers to be responsible caregivers. This collection also includes interviews with daughters of absent fathers and concludes with the effects of certain policy decisions on responsible parenting.

Much has been written and debated on lone mothers. However little has been discussed about non-resident fathers. Absent Fathers is part of a growing literature on men and masculinities and takes this debate further. Drawn from one of the best social policy units in the UK and results from the current ESRC Programme on Population and Household Change, it will provide a text for undergraduates in social policy and should also be important for professionals concerned with family breakdown and child support.
