The objectives of this project were to: 1) improve the exposure range, response time, and testing procedures of the Ohio State University's release rate test apparatus, 2) evaluate the "combustibility" of cellular plastics in terms of parameters derived from release rate data, 3) verify and upgrade the Ohio State University release rate model for compartment fires, and 4) develop a fire hazard criteria based on a "hazard load" concept using the compartment fire model and full-scale fire tests to determine the criteria.
