List of money paid when Henry Knox returned from his trip to Boston, Massachusetts.

Marked as a copy/private. Appears to be from Knox to Price at West Point, although no creator is cited. Notes he will be leaving for Boston 10 or 12 July. Asks if Price can be in New York by that time so they may travel together. Notes he will deliver 96 this currency, half of Price's pay for 1787.

Signed H.K. Expresses extreme disappointment that Jackson has not responded to his previous letters. Jackson had suggested he should appropriate 10,000 of Knox's dollars [in certificates] to invest. Knox was alarmed by the suggestion, relating that he needs the certificates to settle important financial obligations. Writes, ...I must conjure you by every principle held sacred among men, that you instantly on receiving this letter inform me that the said certificates will be ready to be delivered to my order. Declares that the future comfort of his family depends on the certificates, and that he has postponed plans to travel to Boston in order to wait for Jackson's reply.

Refers to an earlier letter in which he asks to renew his acceptance of General [Henry] Jackson's drafts at the Bank of the United States. Will be staying in Thomaston longer than he planned because his son, Washington, is very ill, likely close to death. If the catastrophe happens, they will wait as long as is necessary, and then set out by land to Boston.

Marked by Knox as an extract of a letter to Colonel Wadsworth. Notes that the three thousand dollars Wadsworth already has plus one thousand he hopes to furnish in August will answer untill you shall receive further supplies. Instructs Wadsworth to send him the money by stage because Major Platt cannot assist him.

Encloses letters for Ogden from [Samuel] Shaw. Instructs Ogden to take bonds immediately of Mr. [Eli] Hayden, and that not a moments time is to be lost in the execution of the business- You must be here on the spot yourself or you must empower some person to act for you. Suggests that if necessary, Nicholas Hoffman should be sent in Ogden's place. Pages three and four include a list of enclosed letters, documents and bonds (not included).

Discusses a financial matter involving Samuel Shaw, Samuel Ogden, Nicholas Hoffman, and Eli Hayden. Notes, It is supposed our friend has agreed for a pretty high price for the ship.
