Today is my wedding day. In a few breathless moments, I will be Mrs Alejandro Montoya. He is the King of L.A, and everything a woman could want. Handsome, powerful, rich, and hotter than hell itself. But I am not just any woman. I am Alana Carmichael and I'm only here to save my father. I will not bow to any king. This is no fairy tale. This is my nightmare. He is fierce and unyielding. I should hate him. But, the way he looks at me makes me feel more alive than I've ever felt before, and his touch sets my skin on fire. And as I uncover the secrets of our pasts, I discover that monsters are not always what they seem. Sometimes, the real monsters look like ordinary men. Fierce King is a forced marriage, dark mafia romance. It is book 1 in the L.A Ruthless series and features the Montoya crime family. Publishers Note: This book deals with adult and mature themes.

Discover Aly Raisman's inspiring story of dedication, perseverance, and learning to think positive even in the toughest times on her path to gold medal success in two Olympic Games--and beyond. Aly Raisman first stepped onto a gymnastics mat as a toddler in a "mommy & me" gymnastics class. No one could have predicted then that sixteen years later, she'd be standing on an Olympic podium, having achieved her dreams. Aly's road to success was full of hard work, perseverance, and victories, but not without its hardships. Aly faced many obstacles, from naysayers who said she'd never make it in gymnastics to classmates who shamed her for her athletic body to a devastating betrayal of trust. Through it all, Aly surrounded herself with supportive family, friends, and teammates and found the inner strength to remain positive and believe in herself. Now, in her own words, Aly shows what it takes to be a champion on and off the floor, and takes readers on a behind-the-scenes journey before, during, and after her remarkable achievements in two Olympic Games--through her highest highs, lowest lows, and all the moments in between. Honest and heartfelt, frank and funny, Aly's story is enhanced with never-before-published photos, excerpts from the personal journals she's kept since childhood that chronicle memorable moments with her teammates, and hard-won advice for readers striving to rise above challenges, learn to love themselves, and make their own dreams come true.

If Fancy Nancy got angry. Really, really angry. Millie is quiet. Millie is sweet. Millie is mild. But the kids at school don't listen to her. And she never gets a piece of birthday cake with a flower on it. And some girls from her class walk right on top of her chalk drawing and smudge it. And they don't even say they're sorry! So that's when Millie decides she wants to be fierce! She frizzes out her hair, sharpens her nails and runs around like a wild thing. But she soon realizes that being fierce isn't the best way to get noticed either, especially when it makes you turn mean. So Millie decides to be nice--but to keep a little of that fierce backbone hidden inside her. In case she ever needs it again. With bright art and an adorable character, it's easy to empathize with Millie. Because everyone has a bad day, once in a while. Praise for MILLIE FIERCE “Millie Fierce is a delightfully naughty mix between Maurice Sendak’s Where the Wild Things Are and Molly Bang’s When Sophie Gets Angry.”--School Library Journal

One of the New York Times Book Review's Best Crime Novels of 2017 “Warning: you'll finish this in one sitting.” —TheSkimm “Expertly made thriller . . . clever and irresistible.” —The New York Times An electrifying novel about the primal and unyielding bond between a mother and her son, and the lengths she’ll go to protect him. The zoo is nearly empty as Joan and her four-year-old son soak up the last few moments of playtime. They are happy, and the day has been close to perfect. But what Joan sees as she hustles her son toward the exit gate minutes before closing time sends her sprinting back into the zoo, her child in her arms. And for the next three hours—the entire scope of the novel—she keeps on running. Joan’s intimate knowledge of her son and of the zoo itself—the hidden pathways and under-renovation exhibits, the best spots on the carousel and overstocked snack machines—is all that keeps them a step ahead of danger. A masterful thrill ride and an exploration of motherhood itself—from its tender moments of grace to its savage power—Fierce Kingdom asks where the boundary is between our animal instinct to survive and our human duty to protect one another. For whom should a mother risk her life?

What does the bible have to do with islam? The Prophet Daniel was told, ..".when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up. And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people" (Daniel 8:23-24 KJV). Is it possible that a radical terrorist leader, riding the wind of extreme religious fervor, would be this king of fierce countenance and stir up the storm of Armageddon? Will there ever be peace in the Middle East? Are there radical elements within the Islamic people who figure into Christian prophecies of end-time events? It is hard to conceive of an Israel-centered Battle of Armageddon without including radical Muslim forces in the scenario. But what does the Bible say, and are these days upon us? Is it possible that so great a religion, so moved with passion against Judaism and Christianity, so outspoken on the issue of peace in the Middle East, so dominant in the lands of the Bible, could have arisen without the prophecies of the Bible even taking note of it? This book answers those questions-biblically and historically. This is a book for Christians; it is not against Islam or any other religion. It certainly isn't intended as an attack on any ideology, nor is it designed to insult anyone's faith. Rather, it is a statement of Christian faith. It attempts to explain the Islamic religion as it relates to the Christian Bible. But it does proceed from the presupposition that the Bible is true, and that Christianity is the way to eternal life. It is not designed to be mere hateful ranting against Islam, so much as it is meekly relating what the Bible says. True Christianity has no room for hate, bigotry, or prejudice. But our Bible does have a message for Christians and tells us about the role of extremist followers of radical Islam in future events and how we should prepare for events to come.
