I have taken quite a while to get this cookbook out. I started it, along with another one, while we were living in Florida. That was in 2007. I wanted to write this book to continue sharing my recipes and photos of the food I make with you and hope that you will enjoy the food when you try it.

A fun cookbook that has everyday comfort food recipes such as Heart Attack Mac & Cheese and Best Ever Roast Beef, as well as not so everyday Pesto, and Pickling and canning Beets. The pages are filled with some of the most requested recipes for snacks, desserts, breads, soups & sandwiches, breakfast, and dinner. Designed specifically for my children, who always wanted to help me cook but never wanted to stay in the kitchen long enough to learn; youll find some basic cooking terms and definitions, measurements, pans, and pictures to assist for any level cook; seasoned or not. You may have a laugh or two at some of the funny stories and tips about recipe mishaps through the years. Preparing food shouldnt be about becoming top chef, but purely for the enjoyment of cooking, sharing with family and friends, and pleasing palates.

What is a vacation without the great meals? It's a fork in the road, some time away from home. But add a great meal and it's an adventure. One you will never forget. Laughing kids, hot coals, and sauce you can't get at a restaurant back home. Savor it. The first time, and the time years from now that you are reminded of it. These are the best times of your life. Michael Olivier says Friends. Food. Flavour.is the culmination of a long journey. He was invited by the Voyager Wine Estate in Western Australia to prepare a ‘Cape Buffet’ for the duration of the Margaret River November Wine Festival. He and his wife, Madeleine, researched, deconstructed, and rebuilt the recipes, leaving them with a collection of essentially Cape Dishes, which he wanted to publish. Michael and Roelien Immelman, a very talented illustrative designer agreed to go in a partnership on Friends.Food.Flavour., and including the recipes of friends, the book was born. The dishes are eclectic and accompanied by Roelien’s superb illustrations and Mike Robinson’s sensitive photography.
