My poems are written for and about the people who mean the most to me, family and friends. From the adventurous days of our childhood through our golden years, we have shared the many joys life offers. The bonds we have make it easy to put thoughts to paper. There are insightful poems about family, respect, and love. The chapter on fun and games will help you remember the happiness we all enjoyed as we grew. Several of the poems will invoke your thought processes; maybe you share similar ideas, or better yet, you can improve on them. Special occasions, birthdays, Christmas, and other holidays will warm your heart. There are numerous poems with a patriotic theme including my favorite, “A Date with Destiny,” recalling the great teamwork during the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995. May you enjoy these poems and remember your own special family, friends, and fun.

Some of my poetry is inspired by someone’s action, some come by way of sight, sound or a feeling I may have. Some of my poems don’t come at all. Those are the most challenging ones because they force me to go in search of them. I jot a poem because it’s fun and it’s a contribute to society. Even if no one knows I’ve penned the verse, it gives me pleasure knowing it has been created and at any time someone may read it. I can only hope they enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

You Are Destined was written to uplift and motivate teenagers to pursue their dreams with passion and purpose. It was born out of my own dreams, setbacks in trying to accomplish those dreams, the encouragement I received from others, the lessons in stick-to-it-ness and perseverance I learned, and the eventual success I attained by staying the course. The sixteen lessons, questions, and action steps outlined in You Are Destined will enable teenagers to develop and maintain habits and will equip them to take control of their lives and accomplish their goals and dreams.

As a Reintroduction, I’m here to offer and help as a positive guide to get our minds back to thinking, back to fighting, back to handling day-to-day life challenges. Yes, I, too, have been beaten, broken to pieces, laughed at, and had life pull me apart like puzzle. One thing I can say is I’m thankful to have my right mind, health, strength, breath in my body, the ability to speak, walk, and give someone some of what’s in me. The Reintroduction is introduced to help find that champion, that winner to bring out the best you. To help you understand God has not left you. He is waiting for you. Many of us, including myself, have asked the question, “If God wants me to do something, why he won’t do it himself?” Well, I’m here as a witness to say on behalf of God, when you want some new clothes or shoes, they don’t just come to you. You have to go get them. When someone needs you, they come get you and you assist until the job or calling is done. So you have to pray, meditate, and talk to God every day to develop your peace of mind for yourself.
