What follows is a hopeful, honest account of love and loss, a husband who can’t read minds, disastrous family outings, and finding a path (with help from loved ones and a few key new friends) to the joy of a well-lived life. Sure to resonate with mothers spread thin by the demands of modern family life, Everyone But Myself offers an intimate portrait of how one woman found her way back to herself.

After a few of the toughest times in my life, I decided to translate those feelings into poetry. Death is guilt-inducing, puberty is embarrassing, and I could never let my insecurities fester for too long. This book is a collection of simple and awkward stories written in a complicated way so you never truly know what it’s about- at least I hope you don’t. There was a certain turning point in my life where everything started to make more sense, and I want my poetry to show you that at some stage it just becomes another story to tell. When time wasn’t healing anymore, I started ranting on paper, and out came sappy poetry. Poems are delicate, so treat these with care, your interpretation is more important than any meaning of my own.

She begins dating women—soon developing a burning crush on Marina, a beguiling and beautiful dancer who always seems just out of reach. But before long, trouble arrives. Painful secrets rear their heads; jobs go off the rails; evictions loom. Sneha struggles to be truly close and open with anybody, even as her friendships deepen, even as she throws herself headlong into a dizzying romance with Marina.
