Lama Zopa Rinpoche, the respected and beloved cofounder of the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition, offers us a significant book that is both a beautiful tool for experienced practitioners and a how-to for beginners. Revitalize your practice with the potent energy of mantra. In this book, beloved teacher Lama Zopa Rinpoche guides us through the most popular mantras in Tibetan Buddhism: Shakyamuni Buddha, Chenrezig, Manjushri, Tara, Medicine Buddha, Vajrasattva, and more. A mantra—literally “that which protects the mind”—is a series of Sanskrit syllables that evoke the energy of a particular buddha or bodhisattva. It works as a sacred sound that brings blessings to ourself and others, and as a tool to transform our mind into one that is more compassionate and wise. In clear and succinct teachings, Lama Zopa shows us why we need different mantras and how each mantra works. He also explains their importance and power, giving specific instructions for practicing them. The exquisite, full-color illustrations of the deities that accompany the text make this book a beautiful guide, one suitable for both beginners and experienced practitioners.

This book consists of 2 parts: The first includes the most essential mantras for your yoga practice. The second part includes the most sacred chants from different traditions: Hindu, Buddhist, Sikh, Jain, Christian, and Islamic. In yoga practice, mantras play a key role. Typically, practitioners of yoga chant mantras at the beginning and end of a yoga session. Here, we have created a collection of mantras that are used in a variety of yoga traditions: Patanjali, Vinyasa, and Kundalini Yoga. We also include several Buddhist mantras which are usually used at the end of a yoga session when Metta meditation is done. The handpan because of its unusual sound might be a great tool in your spiritual practice and experience. These mantras were adapted here for Tongue Drum and Handpan and they are possible to play on most drum models. Songs have been transposed for a steel drum sound range. Some melodies have been changed and simplified. The steel tongue drum (aka tong drum, tank drum, gluck-o-phone, hapi, or steeldrum) and the handpan (aka hank drum, UFO drum, zen drum, meditation, healing, or chakra drum) are percussion musical instruments designed to help you focus on your feelings, sensations, and body. The main purpose is relaxation, meditation, and traveling through your inner world. We write the note numbers above the notes because our sheet music is aimed at absolute beginners. Just follow numbers and enjoy. Also, we add a QR code to most songs. Follow the link and find this song before beginning to play. Which tongue drum are these songs suitable for? Each tongue drum is very different, and it is impossible to accommodate songs for all kinds of tongue drums in one book. The mantras collected in this book can be played on most drum models. If you have less than 1 octave of keys on your drum, you may need to skip some songs. Table of Contents Part 1. Yoga Mantras Adi Mantra.
