In 2004, the Centro Cultural de Belem in Lisbon organized the exhibition Mirror, Mirror, which presented images of Portugal as seen by 13 Magnum photographers. The exhibition and this accompanying catalogue provide a look at Portugal from the 1950s to the present through the eyes of some of the world's foremost journalistic and artistic photographers. To give a broad vision of the country's development over the last 50 years, the exhibition features images from the Magnum archives alongside recently commissioned work by Josef Koudelka, Susan Meiselas, and Miguel Rio Branco. Besides those mentioned above, the catalogue has 100 color and tritone plates featuring images by the following photographers: Bruno Barbey, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Thomas Hoepker, Jean Gaumy, Bruce Gilden, Guy Le Querrec, Inge Morath, Martin Parr, Gilles Peress and Gueorgui Pinkhassov.

While a feminine perspective has become more common on Latin American stages since the late 1960s, few of the women dramatists who have contributed to this new viewpoint have received scholarly attention. Latin American Women On/In Stages examines twenty-four plays written by women living in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Venezuela. While all of the plays critique the restraints placed on being female, several also offer alternatives that emphasize a broader and healthier range of options. Margo Milleret, using an innovative comparative and thematic approach, highlights similarities in the techniques and formats employed by female playwrights as they challenged both theatrical and social conventions. She argues that these representations of women's lives are important for their creativity and their insights into both the personal and public worlds of Latin America.

A. A. DaSilva nasceu em Vilar de Nantes, Chaves, quando pelos fi ns de Fevereiro de 1946 os salgueiros começavam a lançar os primeiros botoes. Estudou Humanidades com os Padres Vicentinos. Frequentou o ISEE (Instituto Superior de Estudos Eclesiásticos), em Lisboa, onde cursou Filosofia e Teologia. Trabalhou em Cabinda, para a Cabinda Gulf Oil, como intérprete e "Time-keeper". Foi professor, empregado bancário e chefe de Importaçoes e Exportaçoes, em Moçambique, onde casou e viveu quase vinte anos. Na London Guildhal University, em ligaçao com a La Universidad de Alcalá de Henares cursou Psicologia e Línguas Modernas. Vive em Londres e aí trabalha em ligaçao com várias Organizaçoes ligadas à Saúde Mental.
