To help the ordinary reader, the transliteration shows the sounds of the Arabic letters and words through English letters, without employing any diacritical marks used in formal, academic transliteration. The hyphen is used to separate syllables. Underlining is used under two successive letters to represent doubled letters (as in inna) or when the two letters stand for a single letter of the Arabic alphabet (as in kh or sh). The transliteration and the Arabic text are laid out side-by-side in two columns, with each verse beginning on a new line. The English translation is provided after each "section" in case of the long chapters (i.e., chapters up to ch. 80) and after the entire chapter in case of short chapters (i.e., chapters 80 to the end).
