Into that line of Terri tories extending from Dakota, on the north, to the Gulf of Mexico, on the south, a region nearly fourteen times as large as the state of New York, the immigrants are ocking by tens and hundreds of thousands. All the mining regions of the Rocky Mountain system are also brought near, while new railroads north and south are opening new routes to the Pacific, and bringing all that is desirable there within easy reach of immigration. Thus opening Utah, New Mexico and Arizona, we have in like manner also been brought into close contact with most of the Indian Reservations; and under the guidance of the Holy Spirit all the new information thus gained has been used to give new interest to the solution of the Indian problem and the Mor mon problem and to draw attention to the inhabitants of New Mexico, the oldest settled portion of the United States.
