La investigación responde a la pregunta por ¿cuáles son las concepciones construidas por doce profesores de instituciones educativas oficiales de la ciudad de Bogotá, con relación al lugar de la memoria en las prácticas de enseñanza-aprendizaje de las ciencias sociales? Para ello se diseñó un estudio de corte cualitativo en el que se realizaron entrevistas semiestructuradas y observaciones no participantes con cada maestro; finalmente se hizo un grupo focal, y por medio de un análisis basado en la codificación y categorización, se triangularon los datos y se encontró que: 1) los docentes conciben a la memoria como un remedio para el olvido propio de la liquidez de nuestro tiempo, distinguen entre los procesos individuales de memoria y la memoria compartida que se vive, se aprende y se enseña. 2) la memoria tiene un lugar en el docente, el cual agencia su experiencia personal, así como su saber pedagógico y disciplinar en el aula...

By repositioning democratic education not as something that can be achieved by following a certain, proven process, but as an inherently paradoxical enterprise in its dealings with the tension between schooling as the intentional production of citizens and the uncertainties of democracy, an alternative way of reading the curriculum emerges. This book aims not at arriving at the right combination of theory, policy and praxis that will provide the democratic utopia, but at historicizing the discourses that have shaped the ways in which we think and act in the field of education.
