Esta obra se presenta como un manual donde los dos autores han realizado una nueva reconceptualización sobre los estilos de enseñanza en la Educación Física. Tal vez lo más llamativo es que en esta ocasión a la teoría le ha seguido la investigación y la experiencia práctica. El libro, por tanto, no es una nueva teorización, sino que a partir de la investigación aplicada y la práctica de la enseñanza, se dan explicaciones a las estrategias de la enseñanza de la Educación Física. De este modo, la investigación que se va narrando sirve de pretexto para reinterpretar los estilos de enseñanza. La credibilidad de este manual viene avalada por el propio estudio y la reflexión enfrentada de los autores sobre los estilos de enseñanza. Esto no supone que los propios autores lo planteen como un nuevo dogmatismo que excluya otras maneras de enfocar o abordar el estudio y la aplicación de los estilos de enseñanza en la práctica diaria de la Educación Física. La obra presenta en este sentido un material teórico surgido de la relación directa con la realidad de los patios escolares, por lo que puede ser de gran utilidad a las personas interesadas en la enseñanza de la Educación Física y el deporte.
