Migration has contributed to the society we live in today, and as such, it is part of our shared history. Both the causes and the consequences are multifaceted and complicated. While many people leave their homes as a result of conflict or poverty, others move under conditions of peace, political stability and development. A large share of international migrants originated from rural areas. This is an important part of the structural transformation of an economy, and is an important part of the structural transformation of an economy.
